How do I install BestSync?
Download the distribution from the
download
page. Ignore any Internet Explorer security warnings. BestSync does not
contain any viruses, spyware, or adware. When the download window appears, be
sure to click the "Open" or "Open this program from its current
location" choice. If you select save, please note where you are saving the
program. Follow the installation instructions. By default, the application will
be installed to the "Program Files\RiseFly\BestSync" folder on your system drive.
(Ver 2.x is "Program Files\RiseFly\FolderSync".)
If under
Windows VISTA, please use Administrator
account to install BestSync.
If the installation failed, please try to do "an
administrative install":
Open a command prompt window as administrator , and type:
msiexec /a x:\BestSyncSetup.msi
Where x:\BestSyncSetup is the path to the
msi install file. Follow the on-screen
instructions to install.
How to install BestSync in
silent mode?
Following these steps to install BestSync in silent mode:
1. Download the msi installer
from here:
http://www.risefly.com/BestSyncSetup.msi
2. Use following command line
to install BestSync in silent mode:
msiexec /quiet /i
BestSyncSetup.msi
If you
need to uninstall, Use following command line to uninstall BestSync in
silent mode:
msiexec /quiet /x
BestSyncSetup.msi
Do I need to uninstall an
old version before installing the new one?
Version 2.X must uninstall the old version before install the new version. There will be two radio buttons
called "Repair" and "Uninstall". Select
"Uninstall" to uninstall the old version first. After uninstall the
old version, start the setup file again.
BestSync 2008 (Ver3.X), 2009(Ver4.X) need not to uninstall the old version, just install
the new version directly.
How to uninstall BestSync?
From Windows' Control Panel, start the Add/Remove Program panel. Select the
"BestSync 200X" and Click the "Modify/Delete"
button to uninstall, following command of the wizard dialog box. The installer
will exit the program and service automatically.
How to uninstall BestSync
completely?
Sometimes, BestSync Service is not uninstalled completely by the
uninstaller. Please following this steps to uninstall the BestSync Service.
1. Open the DOS command prompt, go to (CD) the BestSync install
directory. Usually it is [C:\Program File\RiseFly\BestSync 2010 ].
2. Run following command line in the install directory to uninstall the
BestSync service.
>BestSyncSvc /uninstall
3. In [Add or Remove Program] tool of the control panel, uninstall BestSync 2010 .
