Failed: The system cannot find the file specified

Post by arjanm »

I’m running a task that moves files from a local disk on the BestSync server to a network share on an other windows server. BestSync is running under a service account that also has change rights on the remote share and ntfs.

Everytime the job runs it says it was failed. When I look in the log it says “Failed: The system cannot find the file specified”. But when you look at the destination the files are correcly moved.

What is cousing this behavoir and how can I solve it. We are using the latest version 10.0.3.6.

The destination folder.

Please check if you have setup the backup options, and if the backup folder is accessible.

We are not using the backup function.
It's not a permission problem because other folders in both source and destination are working fine. In both locations all rights are inherited from te root folder.

Hello,

Is it possible that when the task want to move the files, the files are already deleted by other program?

No, the files are dedicated for only this task.
If this was the case, the file wouldn't be moved to the destination folder.

How can I turn on Advanced/Debug Logging so I can see where it goes wrong?

You can stop the task, then start the preview of the task to see how the task is running.
Please confirm if the logon user has "write" privilege to the temporary folder, you can find the temporary by click the "Option"/"Option" menu, then click "TempFolder" tab in the option dialogbox.
Please check the privilege of "TempFolder+\BestSync.tmp" folder.
Usually the temporary folder is like the following:
C:\Users\WIN10\AppData\Local\Temp\BestSync.tmp

When I run the task in Preview I get exactly the same error. No further or more information is revealed.

We changed the location of the Temp folder to D:\Temp\BestSync and all users, including the service account we are running BestSync under, have change rights at this folder and all above.
In to D:\Temp\BestSync there is no such file as BestSync.tmp. Even when the task is running there is no file.
I can’t find this file on any place on the server.

Many tasks are running fine with no problems.

If you see how many views this threat has, it is not only a problem with me but are there more people with the same problem.
