Only scan the source folder to detect whether files are changed

Post by CurtisZM »

Risefly,

I have multiple task linked together in sequence to send to my FTP site because of limitations of open concurrent connections.

If I select in filter "Only scan the source folder to detect whether files are changed. (Fast, only be suitable for single-direction synchronization" I receive a fail on a file or even multiple files. To me if with that box check it should skip the file/s because it see's no change, why is it a fail? Then I receive a email stating a failed transfer. I'm trying to speed up the process to upload with multiple task.

If I'm doing it wrong... Any suggestions? Thank you.

I've attached the error and my filter setup:

I have tested "Only scan the source folder…” option with FTP/SFTP, BestSync works fine.
Please confirm whether you are using the latest version.

Risefly,

I am using the latest 2016 version and I still receive failures.

Is there a way you can remote in to see what is happening?

It seems that the error is related to something wrong with the windows.
Please check the following article:
https://kb.plesk.com/en/120909

Cause
Insufficient permissions of the C:\users\default directory.

Resolution
Verify permissions of C:\users\default folder, the correct set is:
Everyone:read, System: full, Administrators:full, Users:read

Risefly,

Under user the folder is named Default.migrated. Any issues with that? Thanks.

I do not know your detailed settings, but the problem may be related to the permission setting of the temporary folder.
You can change the temporary folder by "Option/Option" menu, "TempFolder" setting tab.
Please try to change the Temporary Folder to a folder that everyone can access, to see if the problem can be resolved.

Risefly,

Changed the folder to C:/TempFolder with the same results. I can just leave unchecked the only scan source folder option.

OS = Windows 10 Home

Risefly,

Would deleting and reinstalling Best sync fix the issue?

Risefly,

I'm sorry to bring this to the surface again but I just started over with a new hard drive and Windows 10 Pro. I'm still getting the issue with failures if I check the box "Only scan source folder to detect". I compared my PC's default folder to the article you have me reference and they are the same.

I'm still trying to narrow it down. I had one task that was processing 2 files at a time and was constantly failing with one file. I unchecked process multiple items and now that task seems to be ok. I will continue to monitor.
